Coronavirus: Crashes in Waikato increasing under alert level 3
Crashes have doubled in the Waikato as more people leave their homes and head back to work under alert level 3.
For the week ending April 29, which consisted of just two days under alert level 3, there were 47 crashes and 194 driving complaints, Waikato road policing manager Inspector Jeff Penno said.
That was a jump from 20 crashes, and 110 driving complaints, the week prior in level 4 lockdown.
