Doctors call for law debate as unrestrained children die on roads
A top trauma surgeon is calling for urgent action on car seats after dozens of children were either killed or injured on our roads.
More than 34 children without seatbelts or car seats were hospitalised in road crashes in the Midland regions between 2015 and 2018.
Waikato Hospital trauma surgeon Grant Christey said the statistics are alarming and he’s calling for an urgent debate around car seat legislation and education.
