Lime pitches to have electronic scooter trial in Cambridge, Te Awamutu
Lime proposes to roll out its electronic scooters further south into the Waikato but community leaders are cautious about introducing the smart mobility option.
Lime’s operations manager, Hamish Ellis, pitched the idea to the Cambridge Community Board where he proposed about 200 of the electric scooters be deployed between the two Waipā towns.
In his written presentation to the committee, Ellis said scooters needed to be used at least twice a day for a “successful operation”. Lime would work with the Waipā District Council to ensure there were not excess scooters on streets.
