Waikato DHB people won two major awards as Hamilton and Waikato’s science and innovation sector celebrated the region’s top scientists and their achievements at the 13th annual Kudos Awards last night (5 September 2019) in Hamilton.
Midland Trauma Research Centre was the winner of the Waikato DHB Medical and Science Award, presented by Waikato DHB chief executive Dr Kevin Snee. Midland Trauma Research Centre is the premier trauma research group in the country, led by Waikato trauma specialist Grant Christey and based at Waikato Hospital. Its work includes clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and research aimed at raising awareness and ultimately trauma prevention.
